With that in mind, let's talk about the timeline for your transition, things you need to know, ways to prepare, and how we believe you and your advisor will benefit.
To start, here's a timeline showing major milestones and information about the transition.
We will transition your accounts in 2023.
To help avoid disruptions, your transition will happen over a weekend.
Two months prior to your transition, you'll receive specific details like your account agreements and information about your Schwab cash feature.
About one month before your transition weekend, you'll be prompted to create your Schwab Alliance Login ID and password. You'll need this to access your account after it moves to Schwab.
Beginning Friday at 8:30 pm ET of your transition weekend, your account will be temporarily unavailable while we begin the process to automatically and securely move your accounts, assets and cash.
Starting on the morning of the first business day after your transition weekend, your accounts and assets will have moved to Schwab and you will be able to log into your account using your Schwab Alliance credentials.
So, how do you prepare?
For most clients of advisors, the only thing you'll need to do is create a new Schwab Alliance Login ID and password so you can monitor your account once it has moved to Schwab.
Setting up your credentials will help ensure you're ready to go on day one.
Once your accounts are transitioned to Schwab, you will access your account information by using your Schwab Alliance login info. You will no longer be able to log in to AdvisorClient.com or use the Advisor Client mobile app after your account has moved to Schwab.
After the transition, you can log into Schwab Alliance to review your personal profile and make updates as needed.
Schwab Alliance provides a secure, easy way to stay informed and get on-demand access to important account information and documents and manage your account details.
You can check on the status of requests and securely approve transfers; access important documents, including account statements, trade confirmations, and tax reports; conveniently deposit checks with the click of a camera on your phone or tablet; and grant "View Only" access to third parties, such as CPAs, attorneys, and family members.
We will keep you and your advisor informed, but you can always find more information, FAQs, and resources about your move on the Advisor Client Information Hub at welcome dot schwab dot com back slash alliance.
You might also want to download the Schwab Mobile app, so you have it ready to use when your account move is complete.
Keep an eye out for additional communications between now and your transition weekend to stay updated on the integration.
