To do so, make your way to the accounts and roles section of the account access page.  Here, you'll see a list of your accounts and users who have access to them. To get started, click on SnapTicket, which can be found on the right-hand side of the page. Certain pages, such as Positions and Order Status, will contain in-context links which will automatically open SnapTicket when clicked. Narrator: The Funds Available and Margins Details account information on Schwab.com can help clients with margin accounts know how much they have available to place trades or withdraw from their accounts.

So, let's talk about what those numbers mean. To get there, starting on the Accounts tab, select Balances.

First, select the account you want to see balance details for. Within the Balance Details section, we're going to focus on two sections relevant to trading: Funds Available and Margin Details & Buying Power. Note that if you have an account that is not margin enabled, you may not have all these sections.

Looking at Funds Available, there are sections called To Trade and To Withdraw. Starting under To Trade, there's Cash & Cash Investments, which also appears a few other places on the page. Cash & Cash Investments under the To Trade section is the available cash that you can use without borrowing on margin.

Next, there's Settled Funds.

Settled Funds is cash from either deposits or from the sale of securities that have been fully paid for and have reached the settlement date for that sale.

Then there's Available to Day Trade. This only appears in margin accounts and is only used by accounts designated as day trader. The value listed is the maximum dollar amount of fully marginable securities that can be held intraday and includes funds swept into interest-bearing features of your Schwab account, like the Bank Sweep feature.

Second from the bottom is Cash + Borrowing. If you're going to trade on margin, this tells you the maximum market value you can purchase. Finally, there's SMA, or Special Memorandum Account. SMA balances are used in calculating the amount of funds that may be withdrawn from the account or applied to new margin transactions.

Looking now at the To Withdraw section, the Cash & Cash Investments is the amount of cash available to withdraw from the account. Keep in mind, this isn't always the same as Cash & Cash Investments in the To Trade section. For example, cash from recent deposits may show up as available to trade but may not be available to withdraw until after an initial hold period.

Next is Borrowing.

If you have $2,000 or more in marginable securities equity, you can use the amount above $2,000 as collateral to borrow or to withdraw. For those purposes, think of $2,000 as the baseline.

It's good to know that you'll be charged interest on any amount that you withdraw that exceeds the available cash in the account.

Next is Cash + Borrowing. This is the total amount you can withdraw from your account. Finally, Cash on Hold refers to margin interest and recent deposit holds in the account and is therefore not available to be withdrawn or used in new trades.

Continuing down to Margin Details & Buying Power, this section starts with Balance Subject to Interest, which is your prior day's settled margin loan amount that's subject to interest. Keep in mind that if you sell securities to cover a margin loan, you'll continue to see a balance until the day after the sale settles.

Month to Date Interest Owed shows how much interest you owe on funds you've borrowed. At Schwab, margin interest is accrued daily and charged monthly, so that balance potentially updates every day.

Margin Equity represents the value of marginable securities plus any margin cash or minus any margin loans. 

Equity Percent is your margin equity divided by the market value of your long marginable securities plus the market value of any short positions. Note that non-marginable securities do not count toward margin equity but counts toward account value. 

On this page, there's also a link to margin buying power. Select Margin Buying Power, and it'll show you exactly what your buying power is for a number of different security types in your account.

Also, on that page, you have a link to Margin Rates. Select it to see the current margin rates that Schwab charges for margin borrowing. Rates vary depending on the size of the debit balance.

That's it. Understanding the numbers on the Funds Available and Margin Details sections of the Balances page can help you manage your investments and trades more effectively.

I'm Sarah Tyson, a Trader Service senior specialist here at Schwab, and in this video I'm going to give you a walkthrough of our trading platform thinkorswim^® web, a web-based trading platform with many of the features and functionality that you're familiar with on thinkorswim desktop, however now available on a web-based trading platform.

So, in this video I'm going to give you a walkthrough of the layout of thinkorswim web and show you some key features and functionality like watch list, charts and how to place a trade on both stocks and options.

So let's jump in and get started.

One of the main advantages to using thinkorswim web is that there's nothing to download or install. Simply grab your nearest device, whether your phone or a tablet, or you can go to your computer or laptop and simply launch your web browser.

Narrator: From here, there's two ways to get thinkorswim web. The first is to navigate directly to trade.thinkorswim.com. From here, you can simply enter your username and password and log into thinkorswim web.

Narrator: The second way to get to thinkorswim web is to navigate to thinkorswim.com and log in right from the landing page.

Okay, let's begin with the layout of thinkorswim web.

Animation: The mouse traces along the top of the platform pointing at the different options. It clicks on Feedback opening a dialog window.

Narrator: Along the top we have a connection status and the ability to enter or look up a symbol. On the other side, we have the time until the regular market close, Education, Notifications, and you can also send feedback to the developers right here.

Narrator: And finally, we have Settings. Here we can change the language, change the quote color, or even change the color of the entire site. Now if I want to see the site in light mode, I simply click right here. And to change it back to dark mode, I'll click there again.

Animation: The Settings window closes, and the mouse moves to the left side of the screen. It points at an icon that looks like an eye. When the eye is clear, the account numbers are visible. When the eye is crossed out, the account numbers are hidden.

Narrator: Over on the left is your account summary section where you can get information about your account. So, if you want to hide your personal information while you're using the site, just click the icon that you see here. This will hide your personal information across the entire site. Now just go ahead and click it again to unhide them.

You can also switch to paperMoney^® from the same section in case you want to test out any of your trading strategies. For this demo, I'm going to stay on paperMoney.

Okay, let's start customizing the platform, and we'll do that by creating a watchlist.

Animation: The mouse moves down to the Watchlist section of the left side panel. Then it clicks on the New Watchlist button. An empty watchlist appears with a Find a Symbol box.

Narrator: So, we're going to select New Watchlist and let's call this one Demo Watchlist. And we're going to add the FANG symbols just as an example.

So, we'll start with Meta, formerly known as Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, and Alphabet.

Now I've got all these symbols on my watch list.  If you want to move these columns, I just drag and drop to change their order.

For instance, if I wanted to see the Mark Change before the Mark or to change their order back, just drag and drop again.

All right, let's go to a symbol, and place a trade. I can do this in one of two ways.

Animation: The mouse moves to the top of the platform and clicks in the Find a Symbol box.

Narrator: First, I'm going to go to our symbol entry and type the symbol for Microsoft. Now on this page you can see we have the symbol, company name, and the ability to add it to our watchlist.

And you can see here this feature will allow me to add it to the one we just created which we call Demo Watchlist. So, clicking Demo Watchlist, and you can see that Microsoft is now added to the watchlist we just created.

Animation: The mouse moves back to the left panel Watchlist section. It then clicks on GOOGL which brings up the stock for Alphabet.

Narrator: The second way to get to this page is by clicking symbols on the watchlist so we can navigate to Alphabet, Netflix, Amazon, and Apple. And each one I click on is going to load in the symbol area.

Animation: The mouse clicks on the Buy button and a Trade window appears at the bottom of the screen.

Narrator: Okay, let's buy 100 shares of stock. After clicking on the Buy button, an order will appear in the trade table where I've got a Buy-Sell toggle that I can toggle by clicking. And I can select the number of shares in this case 100, but I can change that to say 500 or any number really that I want. In this case, let's go back to 100.

As I update the quantity information about my order is going to update in real time. We have a bid and ask spread here and it will also show the mid price, and you'll see that when the mid is between the bid and the ask. So, that will show up depending on the market.

Now I have the limit price for my order, which we're going to go ahead in this case and set it to let's say $183, which is right below the current market.

We also have our order types: LIMIT, MARKET, MARKET ON CLOSE, LIMIT ON CLOSE, STOP, STOPLIMIT, and TRAILSTOP. I'm sending a limit order in this case.

We have our time and force options: Day and Good Till Cancel. And I can also send those for the extended session.

And we'll go ahead and review the order where I'll get some order confirmation details.

And we have an order summary and some information about the order like Resulting Buying Power, Buying Power Effect, and the Resulting Buying Power for Options, as well as some quote data.

Animation: The order is sent and a window appears in the upper right hand corner showing the order has been submitted.

Narrator: Now let's go ahead and send that order. And now we can see the orders working in the market on our trade table. And now that we have an order for a hundred shares working, I'm going to show you how to edit this order so that you can change the price and get a fill. First, we're going to click Edit Selected, and you'll notice now I'm editing this order in a new order in the trade table.

Let's go ahead and make this a MARKET order.

So that's going to fill at the current market price. Let's review that order and send it.

You'll notice my fill comes in on the upper right corner, and once that information is gone, I can also access it in the notification section.

Here I have my information about my fill, my buy, as well as my edit. Once I'm done viewing notifications, I can just clear all of those so that any new notifications that come in will be visible.

Animation: The mouse clicks on the Positions icon on the left of the screen.

Narrator: Right now, I'm looking at my positions.

And above that you'll notice we have the activity bar where you can monitor your Working, Filled, and Canceled orders.

Animation: The mouse selects the box next to the working order and then clicks on the Cancel Selected button. Then a confirmation alert appears on the top of the screen.

Narrator: Let's go ahead and quickly cancel that working order so that we can take a look at just our positions. I can see that confirmations come through that the order has been canceled.

Animation: The mouse clicks on the Apple symbol in the Positions menu.

Narrator: Now let's close one of these positions. We'll go into our Apple position, which we opened earlier. To close this position, click Close Selected, and an order to sell the position will come up on the screen.

Let's go ahead and make this a MARKET order so that we can see what happens once the position is closed.

I'm going to click Review and get our order confirmation again, and then send that closing order. Now our position in Apple is closed.

You can see that on the right in the All Accounts Positions preview.

Now let's imagine we want to put a stop order on our Meta shares. First, we'll switch to Meta by clicking on META in the position's preview, and then we'll start closing this position by clicking on Close Selected.

But the difference is this time we're going to change our LIMIT order to a STOP order. We'll specify a lower price, like $250. We're going to review that order and then send it.

Now you'll notice we have both our Meta position as well as a stop order to close that position should Meta go all the way down to 250.

So now that we've got our stop order on, we can go back to our All Account Positions and select Activity to monitor this working order. Let's take a look at some of the things we can do on this page.

Narrator: You'll notice that right now I have some data. For example, Quantity, some profit and loss numbers, Cost, Net Liq, Trade Price, Buying Power Effect, and then some of the greeks, which may not be as applicable to this portfolio since it's all stock.

Animation: The mouse hovers on the gear icon. Then clicks on the icon to reveal the Customize Columns screen. The mouse clicks the minus signs for each greek. Then it clicks the Close button.

Narrator: So, if we wanted to remove that to do that, I'll click on the gear wheel icon and remove the greeks by selecting them here.

Okay, now let's take a look at charts on thinkorswim web.

To start, we'll click on Microsoft and go to Microsoft's trade page.

Beneath the trade table is the chart. I can hover my mouse over the chart giving me cross hairs. That'll tell me what date and price level my mouse is located at. So, I can also see in the top left-hand corner of the chart the Open, High, Low, and Closing prices for the candle that my mouse is currently hovered over.

So, for example, if I wanted to look at last week's close, I could hover over the candle for last week and see the close in the top left hand corner of the chart. If I wanted to change how much data I'm viewing, which is currently set to one year, I can go to the top right click on 1 Year and then change to say one Week where I'll now be viewing the one-hour candles for the past five trading days.

Okay, let's show you how to buy a call option on thinkorswim web.

Let's go to the symbol for Netflix and we can take a look at some ways that we can buy a call. There are two ways that you can buy a call on this page. First is to simply start an options trade from the trade table, which will move you right into the option trade ticket where you can select the expiration and the strike of the call.

All of the other controls on the order ticket are going to be the same as we had in the stock example.

The other way is to start the call option order from the Option Chain.

So, we'll expand the Option Chain and then we'll pick the expiration we want to trade. If for instance, I wanted to buy a call that expires in 38 days, I would expand the July 21, 2023 expiration with 38 days left.

In the option chain, we have the calls on the left and puts on the right. And the strike price is in the middle.

All of these options expire in 38 days. So, let's go ahead and find the 440 call and we're going to buy that call by clicking on the ask price. If I wanted to sell that call, I would click on the bid price. Or if I wanted to change that to another call, I could simply click again to remove it and let's say buy the 445 call.

So, let's go ahead and go down to review that order. You can see that the order I'm reviewing has many of the same properties as we saw before. Currently, it's set to buy 10 contracts. So let's go ahead and change that to one.

I have the July 21 expiration here, the 445 strike that I've selected and is currently set to buy at $20.40, which is the current asking price for the call. Leave that as a limit order, and then when you're ready, click Send.

Narrator: To the right, we have the profit and loss profile for this long call that we've selected in the trade table.

We have the green shading to represent our potential profit and the red shading to represent our potential loss. And then you'll see this dotted green line, which represents the current price of Netflix.

One thing you'll also notice is that we have a dotted blue line, and this represents our profit and loss as of today, as opposed to say the profit and loss at expiration, which is in 38 days.

Now that's represented by the green and red shaded line.

Narrator: Hey traders. I'm Cameron May, and in this video, I'm going to give you a high-level walk-through of the thinkorswim^® trading platform. I'll be showing you the desktop version of the platform. You can check out our other videos to learn about the web-based and mobile versions of thinkorswim.

Let's jump in.

Narrator: To download thinkorswim if you're a Schwab client, log in to schwab.com and in the main menu click Trade and then Trading Platforms. Now, the page may look a little different depending on the type of account you're using. That's because some accounts need to be enabled to trade on thinkorswim first, and there will be additional instructions on this page for how to do that. Once you have a thinkorswim-enabled account, you'll see this version of the page, where you can download the platform installer by clicking Download thinkorswim desktop. Once the platform is installed, you can open it and log in.

Animation: thinkorswim login screen appears.

Narrator: First, I'll double click this icon to begin the login process. Once the login screen appears, enter your Schwab Login ID. Here, you can also select Live Trading or paperMoney^®. paperMoney is a trading simulation platform that works basically the same as regular thinkorswim but without using real money, so you can practice trading. For this demo, we're going to show you the live side. Click Continue and then enter your Schwab password. Depending on your account settings, you may need to complete two-factor authentication to log in.

Narrator: Now as a new user of thinkorswim, it's important to understand how the platform is laid out and, specifically, we have, on the left, our left sidebar. We'll talk about this in a little bit. And then the right, we have nine tabs that essentially hold all the different features of thinkorswim. And within each of these tabs are different subtabs. For example, our nine tabs, we have our Monitor tab, Trade, Analyze, Scan, MarketWatch, Charts, Tools, Education, and, finally, Help.

And below each of these tabs are subtabs. For example, under the Monitor tab, we have Activity and Positions, Account Statement, FX Reports, and Strategy Roller. And as we move from tab to tab, those subtabs also change based on whatever tab we're working in.

Now, let's jump into our first activity, and that's going to be to set up our left-hand sidebar. So, for this particular demo, I'm actually going to clean this entire sidebar up. By default, we're set up with Live News, our Trader TV gadget, a Watchlist, and if we click this arrow down at the bottom, you'll notice that we have a quick chart also enabled. This is by default. So, if this is your first time logging in to the platform, you'll see those four gadgets.

Let's clean that up. I'm going to click this gear wheel at the bottom of the screen. And you'll notice that we have all these gadgets that I just showed you. And let's delete them all. I want to show you what a clean sidebar looks like. I just click those Xs, and you'll notice the only thing left is our Account Info screen. And that's the one gadget you can't get rid of. You can hide it with this caret, but you can't get rid of it. And really, that's because this is an important section for every trader to have available to them.

Now, let's set up our sidebar with two gadgets, Live News and a watchlist. So, I'm going to go to this plus sign. If I want to add a gadget, and you'll notice our whole menu of available gadgets appears, and we're going to hit Live News. It allows you to see a feed of breaking news headlines from multiple sources.

You can filter by symbol, or to just the positions you currently have in your account. Now, if I want to make this gadget a little bit bigger, I'm just going to put my mouse in this dividing line and we're going to stretch that out. But now, we have our Live News set up.

The next thing we're going to do is add a Watchlist. Now, this is probably the single most used gadget on the left sidebar. It makes sense, right? Because as you're trading throughout the trading day, it's great to have a watchlist available so you can keep track of the markets. I'm going to click that.

And by default, you'll see that we have a default loaded watchlist that we've created here at Schwab, but let's change this. For example, if we change this menu from default, you'll notice a whole submenu appears. And you'll see we have our personal created watchlists, but then we have a number of different public watchlists. For this example, let's add the Dow Jones Industrial Average^®, which are the 30 stocks of the Dow.

We're going to hover our mouse over % through F. You'll notice these are alphabetically listed. Then I'm going to go over here to our submenu and go down to Dow Jones Industrial Average. And just like that, we have a watchlist of the Dow Jones. Same thing as we did with the Live News gadget, if we want to enlarge this, just hover your mouse over that dividing line. And we're going to stretch that down. If we need to see more room, we can click that up.

The other thing, if we want to close or shrink Live News, you'll notice our list of headlines start shrinking, but then the available room for our watchlist increases.

Now let's move on to our Charts tab. Charts are probably one of the most used features on thinkorswim. The charting package is excellent. There's a number of different things you can do. One thing that every trader should know how to do is set up a type of chart you want to see, whether it's a candlestick, a bar chart, but also the time frame. So, let me show you how to do that. So, by default, you'll see we're on a one-year, one-day chart. And you can see that duration here in the upper left-hand corner.

When you navigate the chart, you'll see that we are our mouse is highlighting with crosshairs where we're at on the chart. And as we move throughout the chart, the different values up here from the opening price, high, low, close, that's going to be based on whatever candlestick we're looking at. If we want to switch to a different drawing tool, we can click this button and we can change to a pointer. So, there I've changed to a pointer.

Now if I want to zoom in on a section of the chart, I click my mouse, hover it over, and now we can look at a closer version of this chart over the last few months. If I want to zoom out, I can click the magnifying glass out. If I want to zoom in, you click the magnifying glass to zoom in really close.

Now, first thing, let's imagine we wanted to change this to a bar chart. Well, if you right click on the chart, you can see that you have this button called Style. Well, we have another submenu from there. And essentially, the one we're going to look at is Chart Type.

So, right now we're on a Candle, but if we want to switch to a Bar, a Candle Trend, a Line chart, we just simply select right there. And you'll notice how our candlesticks are now bar charts. Really easy to switch. The other thing you can do is you can go up to this gear wheel at the top, Chart Settings, and essentially do a lot of different customizations from just general settings of the chart, adjust things on your price's axis, your time axis, you can create time frames for your chart, which we'll talk about there in a second.

But more importantly, and everybody asks about this, is appearance. So, what I just did with a couple of clicks, we can go into this Appearance section. We have that same type of charts that we can choose from. Let's switch back to Candle. You'll notice our preview has switched to candle. We can change the colors of our candles. So, if we want to go from a green to gray, whatever you really you want to see, you can do it right here. It's a very widely used feature of the platform to customize your chart look. Once you're ready with the changes, you can hit Apply and OK, and now you can see where we're back to that candle setting with the original colors that we saw when we started.

Next, I want to show you how to change the time frame. So, you'll notice, right now, like I said, we're on a one-year, one-day chart. If we want to switch to an intraday chart, for example, there's this little drop down that says D, which stands for day, or time frame setup. And when we do that, we'll have some preloaded time frames. So, one-day, one-minute. And you'll notice, now, we're on a one-day, one-minute chart, and that D changed to 1m, so it lets you know you are now in a one-minute chart. And we're looking at one trading day with one-minute candle increments. So, every one minute of market data will be a new candle. If we want to switch that, maybe look at a five-day, five-minute, that will change as well. And more importantly, if you want to create your own custom time frame, well, you just switch from Favorites to Time frame, and we just switch to whatever day period we want to see.

Let's say we want to look at five days, and then go to a 30-minute. You can also move this bar at the bottom, if you want a specific customized time frame. It's extremely customizable, I guess, is the point I'm trying to get at, really based on how you trade, how you look at the markets. So now we're on a five-day, five-minute chart for this Nvidia example.

Now, I'm going to show you probably the most important activity that a trader should know how to do on thinkorswim, and that's how to buy or sell a stock. First thing I'm going to do, though, is I'm going to collapse the left-hand sidebar by clicking this button. That gives us some more real estate so I can show you the entire Trade tab, All Products subtab. And what we're looking at is, essentially, the current market for Apple stock. At the top here, we have the stock name, the last traded price, the gain or loss for the day based on dollars and percent, as well as the current bid and ask.

ETB stands for easy to borrow. So, if you were shorting Apple, it'd be an easy to borrow stock. And then where is the stock listed? It's currently listed on the NASDAQ. So, if we click this caret, you'll notice we have a bunch of different data points. This section is an extremely important section, but how do you actually buy and sell the stock? Well, it's pretty simple. You can do it in a number of ways.

The first thing let's imagine we wanted to buy 100 shares of Apple stock. I'm going to hover my mouse over the ask price, and you see there's a little buy badge that shows up under my mouse. If I were looking to sell Apple, you can see I hover my mouse over the bid and a sell button appears. Now, if I click the ask price, you see an order appears at the bottom to buy 100 shares of Apple at a floating limit price based on the current ask price. And it defaults to a limit order and a day order. We'll talk about this in a second. I'm going to delete this order real quick.

One other thing I want to point out, let's bring back our sidebar, you'll notice we had a bid/ask price in our watchlist columns. So, if I click on the ask price from the watchlist, guess what? That same order editor appears at the bottom of our screen. So moral of the story is, anytime you see a bid price, an ask price, or a main price next to a symbol name or lookup, you can enter an order from that part of the software. So once again, let's click on the ask price. I'm going to walk you through this order just really quickly. We have stock. We're buying 100 shares of Apple. Current limit price of $163.36, and it's a DAY order, which means, if we were to place this order, it would be good for today's trading date. Now, let's say we just want to get it filled. We can switch that to a MARKET order. We also have a number of different order types available in this order editor, but let's switch to a MARKET, which means we will get filled that the best available ask price. Hit Confirm and Send.

Now, this section of the software is extremely important. It's the Order Confirmation Dialog. This is where you have your last chance to review an order, double, triple check all of this before you place your order. When you're ready, hit Send. And you'll notice up here at the top, we have some messages that appeared. We bought 100 shares of Apple. And then it goes away. So, what happened to that stock? Well, this is where we move over to our Monitor tab. And Monitor tab, Activity and Positions subtab, this will be the area for you to monitor all of your open positions as well as your activity for the trading day. So, for example, remember we talked about how thinkorswim has tabs, subtabs, and sections.

Well, under the Activity and Positions subtab section, we have today's trade activity. And this is where you'll see any of your working orders, filled orders, you'll notice we have one fill, and that was the trade we just placed, as well as canceled orders.

Now let's go back and do one more example. Let's say we wanted to buy another 100 shares of Apple, but this time we wanted to do it if Apple dropped down to $150. I'm putting my mouse in there and I'm entering a specific price. That padlock is now locked because it's no longer floating with the current market. And we have a limit order that's good for the day, and we're going to hit Confirm and Send.

And now if we go back to our Monitor tab, Activity and Positions, you'll notice how we now have a working order in our working orders section. And it's essentially all the details we just looked at. Now let's imagine, I want to place this order good till canceled, so that it works until either I cancel it or Apple fills it $150. You can right click. Now, in thinkorswim, the right click of the mouse is extremely important. If you're on a Mac, it would be the Command key and your mouse click button. But for PC users, if you right click your mouse, you'll see a menu will appear and we can cancel the order. We can cancel and replace the order. So, we want to cancel and replace this particular order. So, I'm going to change that, and I'm going to go here and change this to good till canceled. Everything else stays the same. I'm going to hit Confirm and Send.

And now you can see we've got a message that our original day order was canceled. Back on the Monitor tab, we go back and you can see now we have an order working good till canceled. So, what happened to our original order? Well, we go down to canceled, and there it is. Cancelled Orders. Buy 100 shares of Apple, $150 limit for the day. We canceled that, replaced it with this good till canceled order. And you can see here, we have our filled order from a few minutes ago. So, this is, essentially, where you're going to keep track of all your orders for the current trading day. This will clear out and reset every single day, and all of your order history will then be found under the Account Statements subtab, the Order History section.

We went through the process to trade a stock, now we're going to look at a process for how to trade a call option. Essentially, it's similar, we're going to trade from a different part of the platform. So, instead of our underlying section here, where we have our bid and ask for the stock price, we're going to go down into the option chain.

Then, for the example that we're going to look at, let's trade the June expiration. And if you want to trade a call or a put option, it's the same process. We have our calls on the left, our puts on the right, we can show a few more strikes under this expiration series. And as you can see, we have that same bid and ask column that we see for the stock. Same process applies. If you want to buy an option, we click on the ask price. If you want to sell an option, we click on the bid price.

I'm going to click my mouse on this $160 in June on Apple. Our order editor appears. Our order quantity defaults to 10. You can change that by going to the Setup, Application Settings, Order defaults. So, we can go to Options, and let's change that to one and apply those settings. And now I'm going to delete this and requeue the order up. And look, our order default has changed to one. Same process. We can choose between limit order, market orders. With options, it is more common for traders to use a limit order. So, let's send that at $9.35, hit Confirm and Send, and you can see we just got filled on our long 160 call in June on Apple. If we go back to the Monitor page, you'll now notice below our stock position, we have the 160 call, one contract. And the same thing applies with the P&L opening day. You're going to see those numbers vary from day to day.

But now we have a stock position and an option position. So, you're probably asking, "How do I close this position out?" What we commonly do is go to the Monitor tab, Activity and Positions page, and right click. And, if you're on a Mac, Command and click your mouse to queue up the order. So first, let's close out our stock position. I'm going to right click on Apple, create then closing order, and then you'll see an order queues up to sell 100 Apple at the current price. Whatever your quantity is, whatever your underlying instrument is, when you right click and create closing order, it will automatically populate the opposite of your existing position. Let's do this as a market order. Hit Confirm and Send, and now you'll see we were filled on our Apple. And as you can see, our quantity is now zero.

And finally, let's take a look at the Education tab in thinkorswim, starting with the Education subtab. Now here, we've embedded Schwab Insights & Education into thinkorswim, so you don't have to leave the platform to get access to the great education provided here at Schwab. Specifically, you can get access to articles, videos, courses, and webcasts and other events and courses that we've created to help you learn different strategies and products, including thinkorswim tutorial videos.

One other thing I want to show you is the Support chat feature up here on the right-hand corner. Click Support chat and under Live Support tab, if we hit Create support request, we can send a text message to our trade desk right here from the platform. Let's say you needed help with an order, you type that in and hit Create Request and then a message will be sent to our trade desk. One of our representatives will receive that and start speaking to you over chat. They can look in and check out your screen and answer any questions you have regarding any issue with the platform. It's a great feature if you don't want to give us a call or if you're unable to.

Narrator: Hello traders, welcome to the thinkorswim® mobile overview tutorial for iPhone users. You'll learn how to navigate and customize the app, place trades, and more. Let's jump in.

To log in, use your Charles Schwab credentials.

The first time you log in, you'll need to adjust some settings.

On-screen text: "thinkorswim" Would like to Send You Notifications; Notifications may include alerts, sounds, and icon badges. These can be configured in Settings. Don't Allow. Allow.

Narrator: First, it's important to enable push notifications so you can receive vital messages like order fills and alerts. It'll also let you approve login requests for two-factor authentication. For additional security on some devices, you can enable biometrics to log in with Face ID or your fingerprint.

We can also set up dark or light mode. This can be changed at any time under the More tab. If you run into any trouble, there's in-app help, which we'll go further into later. The app opens on the Overview page, which provides a quick glance at live data, account details, and more information.

The Markets section shows you what the major markets are doing with real-time and streaming quotes.

Next, My Position Movers shows which of your investments are moving the most that day. Moving down, you'll find Account Balances, Orders, Watchlists, News, Trader TV, and Calendar.

You can customize the Overview page by tapping the gear icon at the top.

Next, tap the red buttons to remove a section, or tap the green buttons to add one.

You can also further customize individual items by tapping the gear icon.

I'll tap Done to exit this screen.

If you have more than one account with Schwab, you can see them all by tapping All Accounts. This is also where you access your paperMoney® account to practice trading strategies without risking real money.

Animation: After long pressing the screen, the icons shake showing they can be moved.

Narrator: You can navigate to other tools using the App Menu at the bottom of the screen. By default, there is Watchlist, quick Trade, Positions, and More. You can customize the app menu to include the tools you use by long pressing an item in the menu.

Let's say we want to create a watchlist, which is a list of investments you want to keep an eye on. The mobile app syncs with your other thinkorswim platforms, so any watchlist you create on one platform will be visible on the others.

To create a new watchlist, tap the name of the watchlist in the upper left side of the app. Next, tap Create New Watchlist.

I'm going to name this Demo and then tap Next.

Now, search for stock symbols to add. I'm going to start with Amazon by typing AMZN in the search box. I'll add it to the watchlist by tapping the green circle next to the symbol.

Next, I'm going to add Apple (AAPL). If you don't know the symbol, just start typing in the name and it'll appear in the box.

I'm going finish off this watchlist with Microsoft, MSFT.

I'll tap Done.

Here's your new watchlist. To sort the watchlist, just tap the title of any column. For example, if I tap Last, it puts the lowest priced stocks on the top. If I tap it again, the highest price stocks are on top.

You can also change the watchlist view by tapping the list icon at the top. Each view focuses on different information, including Grid, Compact, Detail, and Heatmap.

I'll click Detail, and then scroll to the right where you can find information like the company's beta, dividend yield, and P/E ratio.

Let's go back to the grid layout so I can show you how to customize it. I'll start by tapping the gear icon, where I can remove and add a variety of features. I'm going to remove the Strength Meter and then add the PE ratio from the Stock Fundamentals section.

Now, let's say I want to research a stock and place a trade. If the stock is in a watchlist, simply tap the symbol. You can also search for a stock by tapping the magnifying glass at the top. Let's use Tesla as an example. I'll type TSLA into the search field.

This is the quote detail page. You can trade from this page, plus it includes other tabs.

You can find Level II quotes here as well. This shows the order book for the stock, including bid and ask prices.

Animation: After tapping the candlestick icon, a list appears. Edit Styles is selected from the menu.

Narrator: There are more tabs. Let's start with Chart. To change chart styles, I'll tap the candlestick icon and then Edit Styles.

Animation: The Type line shows Candle between two arrows. The left arrow is tapped to reveal the chart types.

Narrator: I can switch the style from Candle to Line, Area, or any of these options.

I can change the chart timeframe or add technical indicators or compare the stock with another stock, like a competitor or against an index.

When I'm finished, I'll tap Done.

Now let's look at alerts. Let's say I want to be notified if Tesla climbs back to $280. First, I'll tap the alert icon.

Now, let's see how to place an options order. I'll go to the new watchlist I created and select Microsoft. Once again, this is only an example and not a recommendation.

For this example, I'll tap on 15 SEP 23 options.

Calls are on the left and puts are on the right. I'll change the number of strikes to eight.

I can also change the tables to reflect a certain strategy by selecting the Spread box and tapping the strategy I want. For example, I'll select Vertical. Now, when I look at the options chain, I see that I have two strikes together, which are potential vertical spreads.

Today I'm just going to trade just a single contract, so I'm going to switch the chains back to Single.

I'll load up an order to buy the 320 call by tapping the ask price.

The order editor looks pretty similar to the stock trade.

I'll reduce the number of contracts to one. Then I'll tap Review and then Send.

Now let's look at our Positions.

Like the Watchlist section, I can sort my positions by tapping the columns. I'll sort the P/L % column to see the winners and losers.

Narrator: Hello traders, welcome to the thinkorswim® mobile overview tutorial for Android users. You'll learn how to navigate and customize the app, place trades, and more. Let's jump in.

To log in, use your Charles Schwab credentials.

The first time you log in, you'll need to adjust some settings.

First, for additional security on some devices, you can enable biometrics to log in with facial recognition or your fingerprint.

We can also set up dark or light mode. This can be changed at any time under Settings.

If you run into any trouble, there's in-app help, which we'll go further into later.

Finally, it's important to enable push notifications so you can receive vital messages like order fills and alerts. It'll also let you to approve login requests for two-factor authentication.

The app opens on the Overview page, which provides a quick glance at live data, account details, and more information.

First, is a glance at your Watchlists which allows you to see how some of the stocks you're watching.

Next, you'll see your Account Balances.

My Position Movers shows which of your investments are moving the most that day. Moving down, you'll find, Orders, Alerts, Markets, and News.

You can customize the Overview page by tapping the gear icon at the top.

Next, tap the blue eye icon to remove a section, or tap the gray eye icon to add one.

You can also further customize individual items by tapping the gear icon too.

I'll tap Back and then the checkmark to exit this screen.

If you have more than one account with Schwab, you can see them by tapping the account name at the top.

This is also where you access your paperMoney® account to practice trading strategies without risking real money.

You can navigate to other tools using the App Menu. Tap the list button in the upper left. By default, there's Account Overview, Watchlist, Positions, Orders, Balances, Alerts, Transfers, Chat Rooms, Trader TV, Messages, and Calendar.

Let's say we want to create a watchlist, which is a list of investments you want to keep an eye on. The mobile app syncs with your other thinkorswim platforms, so any watchlist you create on one platform will be visible on the others.

To create a new watchlist, tap the name of the watchlist in the upper left side of the app. Next, tap Create New Watchlist.

I'm going to name this Demo and then tap Next.

Now, search for stock symbols to add. I'm going to start with Amazon by typing AMZN in the search box. I'll add it to the watchlist by tapping the green plus sign next to the symbol.

Next, I'm going to add Apple (AAPL). If you don't know the symbol, just start typing in the name and it'll appear in the box.

I'm going finish off this watchlist with Microsoft (MSFT).

I'll tap Done.

Here's your new watchlist. To sort the watchlist, just tap the title of any column. For example, if I tap Last, it puts the lowest priced stocks on the top.

If I scroll to the right, I can see more information.

I can also customize the watchlist by tapping the gear icon. Here I can remove and add a variety of features. I'm going to remove the Strength Meter and then add the PE ratio from the Stock Fundamentals section.

I'll tap the checkmark and there it is.

Now, let's say I want to research a stock and place a trade. If the stock is in a watchlist, simply tap the symbol. You can also search for a stock by tapping the magnifying glass at the top. Let's use Tesla as an example. I'll type TSLA into the search field.

This is the quote detail page. You can trade from this page, plus it includes other tabs.

If I want to see more information on how the stock is trading, I can tap on Level II. It shows the order book for the stock, including bid and ask prices.

Let's say I want to look at Tesla's stock chart, I'll tap Chart. To change chart styles, I'll tap the candlestick icon and then Edit Style.

I can switch the style from Candle to Line or any of these options.

I can change the chart timeframe or add technical indicators or compare the stock with another stock, like a competitor or against an index.

When I'm finished I'll tap the checkmark.

I can also set an alert by tapping the bell icon. Let's say I want to be notified if Tesla climbs back to $280. First, I'll tap the alert icon.
