    Every person associated with a Schwab account needs their own unique Schwab Login ID and password. So, whether you're an account owner or have authorized access to another's account, you'll need to create your own.

  • Why it's needed.

    You'll need your Schwab Login ID and password to access your account on Schwab platforms right after the move. You can view and manage all your accounts with a single login.

     

    Additionally, if you're enrolled in paperless, you'll need to create your new login info to maintain that preference.

  • Setting it up.

    Your accounts have moved to Schwab. You can access them now by setting up your Schwab login info.


Steps for account owners.

Follow these simple steps to create your Schwab Login ID and password.

If you've been granted Power of Attorney, trading authority, or another role in an account that's moving or has already moved to Schwab, skip ahead.

    Log in to your TD Ameritrade account.

    Use your existing TD Ameritrade user ID and password to log in.

    Create your Schwab Login ID and password.

    You'll get a message after login directing you where to go next.

Steps for authorized third-party users.

If you've been granted Power of Attorney, trading authority, or another role in an account that's moving or has already moved to Schwab, follow these steps.

  • Step

    Locate the TD Ameritrade account number.

    You'll need it to set up your Schwab Login ID and password.  Where to find the account number. Tooltip

    Start the set-up process on Schwab.com.

    Visit schwab.com/firsttimeuser to begin. You'll be asked for the phone number that's on file with TD Ameritrade. If you don't have one or need assistance, call +1-415-667-8400.*

At TD Ameritrade, each account has a user ID and password, which can be used by either account owner to access the account. If you have multiple accounts at TD Ameritrade, you must digitally link the accounts together so that you can access all your accounts by logging in with one user ID and password.

At Schwab, login info is tied to an individual person. Each Schwab client has their own unique Login ID and password, which automatically link all the accounts that they own or are authorized to access. When you log in to Schwab.com or the Schwab Mobile app, you will see all of your accounts together on your Accounts Summary page. You only ever need to set up one set of credentials.
